Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP has been Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party since November 2024. Kemi held several senior ministerial positions in government, including as Secretary of State for Business and Trade. She also served in the Treasury, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Department for Education.
She has served as the MP for North West Essex (formerly Saffron Walden) since 2017. Before entering Parliament, Kemi built a career spanning engineering, banking, and technology. She also served on the London Assembly.
