Cliveden House is easily reached by rail and road. It is close to London, Oxford and Heathrow Airport.

By Road:

From M4 exit J7 – follow signs to A4 Maidenhead. Turn right at the roundabout onto Lent Rise Road towards Burnham. Continue along Taplow Common Road to the junction with Cliveden Road. Turn left and follow the yellow AA signs to the Festival car park. Please do not follow the Cliveden National Trust signs.  Our What 3 words location is noted.fade.places.

We understand that Cookham Bridge may be closed over the festival weekend, so please check local traffic information and avoid the area if the closure is in place.

From M40 exit J4 onto A404 towards Marlow – exit left onto A4155 (Marlow Road) towards Bourne End. Follow signs for Taplow and Cliveden (NT). Pass the Hedsor Gate entrance on Hedsor Rd/Bourne End Rd and turn right onto Cliveden Road and follow the yellow AA signs to the Festival car park. Parking:

Complimentary Festival parking is available in the Paddock on Cliveden Road, a short distance from the House. See location map here. Follow the yellow AA signs to the Festival car park. Please do not follow the Cliveden National Trust signs.  Our What 3 words location is noted.fade.places.

Shuttle buses will run at regular intervals throughout the day to and from the car park. First shuttle from the car park is at 8.30am on both mornings and the last shuttle from Cliveden back to the car park is 8.45pm on Saturday and 6.30pm on Sunday.

Please do not attempt to park in the National Trust car park at Cliveden, as this is reserved for guests who are not attending the Literary Festival.  It is a considerable walk to the Festival from their car park, so it is best to use the Festival car park in the Paddock and take the shuttle bus from there direct to the Festival.

Disabled Parking:

There are designated parking bays available on the Grand Avenue.  These spaces are limited but bookable in advance.  Please email us or call us directly on +44 (0)20 3488 3401.

By Train:

The nearest stations are Taplow (3.4miles), Burnham (4miles), Maidenhead (6 miles) and Slough (7miles).
