Christopher Riopelle is Consulting Curator at the National Gallery, London, having recently retired as Curator of Post 1800 Paintings. In addition to the current Renoir & Love, among other National Gallery exhibitions he has co-curated are Van Gogh: Poets & Lovers (2024), Gauguin Portraits (2019), and Sorolla: Spanish Master of Light (2019). Forthcoming is Cezanne Bathers (2028). He held previous curatorial positions at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, and taught at The University of Pennsylvania, New York University (Washington Square), and the American College in Paris.
