Sir Ian Rankin is an international bestseller, known for his Inspector Rebus series of novels which have been translated into thirty-eight languages and been adapted for TV, radio and the stage. He has also written non-Rebus novels, short stories, plays, a graphic novel, an opera libretto and song lyrics. He has won many awards for his writing and has both an OBE and a knighthood for services to literature and charity. He lives in Edinburgh and is married with two sons.
