Freya Johnston is a Professor of English at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at St Anne’s College. She is the author of Jane Austen, Early and Late (Princeton University Press, hb 2021; pb 2023), which was shortlisted for the Marilyn Gaull Book Prize in 2024, and has co-edited Austen’s Teenage Writings (2017).
Among her forthcoming books is Austen: A Life in Ten Letters (Cambridge University Press).
She writes regularly for the London Review of Books and the Literary Review.
