
Anthony is one of the most prolific and successful writers in the UK, working across many different media – YA fiction, detective novels, TV, films, plays and journalism. His three bestselling crime novels, Magpie Murders, Moonflower Murders and Marble Hall murders have all been filmed for the BBC.
Working with his wife, producer Jill Green, he also wrote and created the award-winning television drama Foyle’s War.
He is currently working on his sixth Hawthorne novel in which he appears as an unlikely sidekick. In 2022 Anthony was awarded a CBE for services to literature.
