Patrick Radden Keefe is a staff writer at The New Yorker and the author of five books, including the New York Times bestsellers Empire of Pain, which received the Baillie Gifford Prize and was a finalist for the FT Business Book of the Year; Say Nothing, which received the Orwell Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award; and Rogues, a collection of his stories from The New Yorker. He is also the creator and host of the podcast “Wind of Change,” about the strange convergence of Cold War espionage and heavy metal music, which the Guardian and Entertainment Weekly named the #1 podcast of 2020. He is currently working on a new book about the life and death of a London teenager named Zac Brettler.
