Louis Sarközy de Nagy-Bocsa was born on 28 April 1997 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, the son of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Cécilia Attias. He grew up between France and the United States, attending the Lycée français de New York and then Valley Forge Military Academy from 2011 to 2015, before graduating from New York University with a double major in history and philosophy and completing a master’s in International Relations at American University in Washington, D.C.
He began his career in Bogotá at the Inter-American Development Bank, before joining the Embassy of France in Washington in September 2020, where he served until April 2021.
Now a Franco-American writer and political commentator — he has held US citizenship since 2023 — he has published widely in French and American media on politics, philosophy, religion and history, including the Washington Examiner and, since January 2025, Valeurs actuelles. He ran for mayor in the southern French city of menton, earning 18% of the vote and qualifying for the second round where he was defeated. He co-wrote Une envie de désaccord(s) (2019) with his mother, and in 2024 published Napoleon’s Library: The Emperor, His Books and Their Influence on the Napoleonic Era, translated into French the following year.
He married Natali Husic in 2022; they have two children and divide their time between Washington, D.C. and Menton.
