Leïla Slimani was the twelfth woman to win the Prix Goncourt, France’s most prestigious literary prize, for her second novel, Lullaby, which was published by Faber in 2018. Her first novel, Adèle (published in France as Dans le jardin de l’ogre) won the Prix La Mamounia. Slimani is a French-Moroccan journalist and frequent commentator on women’s and human rights. She lives in Paris with her husband and two young children.
