Joanne Cash is a Conservative Peer and the Opposition Spokesperson for Education and Equalities. A barrister specialising in freedom of expression, she has served as a Commissioner on the Equality and Human Rights Commission and advised successive governments over 20 years. She is also a Fellow of Policy Exchange. While Chair of the behavioural science business Mind Gym plc, she co-founded the social mobility programme Parent Gym. She is a champion of young people, their education, health and life chances. For her work defending free speech Vogue has described her as “one of the most influential women of her age” and the Observer as “a modern freedom fighter”.
