Harry Beaufort was born in 1952 and educated at Eton and the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. He has lived at Badminton House , the home of the famous horse trials, since inheriting the estate on the death of his father in 2017.
His life has not followed the conventional route for someone of his background in that he has both played in a number of rock bands and befriended people from that world, as well as meeting royalty and many others from the gently dying world of aristocratic privilege.
He probably would never have written this memoir had it not been for the limitations imposed by the Covid lockdowns. He cannot claim to have led a particularly distinguished life but is a fanatical diarist and the book was written with the principal aim of extreme amusement, something he has achieved at the very least from his own perspective.
