Kate Mosse is a novelist, non fiction writer, playwright and memorist. The author of ten novels & short story collections, including the No 1 bestselling The Joubert Family Chronicles and the multimillion selling Languedoc Trilogy – Labyrinth, Sepulchre and Citadel, her Gothic fiction including The Winter Ghosts and The Taxidermist’s Daughter. Her books have been translated into 38 languages and published in more than 40 countries. She has also written four works of non-fiction – including An Extra Pair of Hands – four plays, contributed essays and introductions to classic novels and collections.
Her latest book, a celebration of women left out of the history books, and a detective story into her own family background, Warrior Queens & Quiet Revolutionaries: How Women (Also) Built the World is out now. The Founder Director of the Women’s Prize for Fiction, she is the Founder of the global #womaninhistory campaign, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a Visiting Professor of Creative Writing & Contemporary Fiction at the University of Chichester.
Kate lives in West Sussex and is currently working on the third novel in The Joubert Family Chronicles, writing her next play and preparing a national UK theatre tour celebrating women’s history for Spring 2023.
